ohmygoodness, what a funny post!! i mean, i know it's not funny for ::ahem:: seamstress, but it IS kinda funny. ;)

I relate completely as I had a similar incident with a slicer machine once. There is nothing like the moment of realization of what has occurred and I am so glad that you are healing so nicely!

Oh you poor, dear! I can sympathize, Achaia!! I know how it feels! Once, I cut off part of my thumb, and it really hurt for a week afterwards! I was cutting fabric too. I couldn't do a lot of things with my left hand for a while. ;) I am so sorry it happened! You can't really notice it now; only if you look very closely you can tell it isn't quite as round as the other. Hope it heals up well and as right as before the accident!

love,
Gabrielle

Oh, my word! The sewing machine needle once went through my right forefinger, and I was rooted to the machine! Thankfully a kind gentleman was visiting and got me out - but your situation is much worse. You have my sympathy.

Jenny Fish

OH I will pause my squirming and cringing to say I hope you are healing quickly! Bless your heart Achaia! Back to my cringing...

Desiree

UGH, that doesn't sound very nice. One time when I was sewing the machine needle went in my thumb.

Lindsay

Eek! That must've really, really hurt! :-o I've never done anything major like that, thankfully. I don't use my rotary cutter too much... it kinda freaks me out. lol :P Anyway, I'm so glad your thumb is healing, Achaia!

The official home nurse, Apphia, came to look at the wound, and access what had to be done. They got the thumb all clean and bandaged up, along with sticking some tylenol down the seamstress's throat, because it really was throbbing at that point.

Oh that's just gross! People think of sewing as this gentle, lady like hobby but it's blood sport! I hope everything is healing up nicely and in the meantime you have a great story (with pictures!).
