Here I go again, but I have to tell y'all what a wonderful, Godly young lady my Abiah is.
She's firm, but she's a peacemaker. She's loyal and devoted. She's witty and very loving. And did I mention the way she can belt out a song?
I love this 4th born daughter of mine -- with her long red hair and big blue eyes. She's amazing and I'm overwhelmed with the blessing of being her mom.
Abiah, you are the cats and my love will always pour over you.
We couldn't have said it better ourselves! We love you to pieces, and think the world of you. You're one of our very favorites, and we are forever grateful to God for making you our baby sister.
We love you!
xoxo Apphia, Achaia, & Abigail
PS Did we forget to mention that we love your killer red hair and killer fashion sense??!
And, of course, we can't help but mention our wonderfully awesome Nanny, who Abiah gets to share a birthday with! Nan, you are one of our very favorites too, and we love you to the moon and back! Wish we could have celebrated your birthday in person. Hugs and kisses!
Well, it's time for another of my gushing birthday posts and I have to quote a favorite movie, "It ain't bragging if it's true.".
Apphia Jade - my first born daughter - a daughter I've prayed for and praised The Lord for - How can I possibly describe how very much this girl means to me? She's responsible and fun loving all at the same time. She is loyal beyond belief and she has always been the best big sister anyone could ever ask for.
My girls and I have been through very tough times together and The Lord has used these trials to bring us closer and closer. No Mom could ask for more. I am blessed indeed!
Happiest of birthdays to my beloved Apphia! xoxo Mommy
PS I will be missing you and praying for you every day that you're away. May The Lord work in your life in an awesome way!
Happy birthday, Phi! You know we love you to pieces and can't imagine life without you! We pray that this year will be filled with beautiful things for you.
A month or so ago Sophie, asked if we could come out to her house and model some vintage wedding dresses for her. Sophie is a super talented, cute, happy, funny photographer, who also happens to be a fabulous friend. Of course, what could we say but "yes!"?!
What a wonderful surprise to be blessed with a 3rd daughter! You have always been so full of life, love, and laughter. I truly value your zest and your tremendous loyalty.
May The Lord Jesus Christ continue to guide and direct you all the days of your life.
I love you, Mommy
Happy 22nd birthday, Abs! We love you so very much and know we are so blessed to have you as a partner-in-crime. Thanks for being a great sister. We are so excited to see what God will do in your life this next year!
Today I've been thinking about all the marvelous things you can do with a needle. Just seeing a Pinterest picture or a photo on someone's blog of something beautiful that's stitched makes me giddy.
The most recent hand project I've started on is this beauty above. Talk about LOTS and LOTS of cross stitching. I know. I bought the PDF pattern on Etsy a few months ago, and just a couple weeks ago decided I was ready to plunge in. It will be soooo exciting to see it completed!
Below I'm going to share with you some beautiful handstitched works. Some of the forms are different (crewel, most just embroidery). Enjoy the eye candy!
I LOOOOVVVVE Rita Hayworth's blouse in this photo!!! All the attention to detail + the styling = magnificent. It doesn't even seem to bother me that the photo's in black and white so I can't see color. I can just imgaine.....
Anna Maria Horner put this little birdie on a sash for her daughter a few years ago. Cutest thing.
All we can say is that we are the MOST blessed girls on the planet. You are the best Mom ever! There's so much we want to say, and so much we can't say. We've been together through thick and thin, and nothing has changed. We are still crazy about you!
For so many years you've been our teacher, our example, our Mommy. As we've gotten older you are now our best friend and confidant. Thanks for all the years you've loved us, taught us, and showed us. We feel we would be extremely blessed if we only lived up to being half of the woman you are.
To the best Mommy ever, we wish God's richest blessings on you. Here's to many more years celebrating you!
So sorry for the silence around here these past months. Our summer has come and is going so quickly. We ended up with lots of memories that we want to hold onto forever.
In July we got to take our annual Indiana trip, which happened to be some of the best two weeks ever. We were refreshed and encouraged, while we relaxed, visited lots of friends and family, went flea marketing, put up about 13 dozen ears of corn, got our hair cut, went shopping, sang, laughed, and drank quite a few Mountain Dew icies. We were also so happy to have our brother Joe there for a few of the days!
And speaking of Joe, a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to spend a hot (humid) Saturday with him. We watched him work (amazing - especially in that hot forge!), and fed almost the entire school with homemade pizzas. We've spent lots of fun weekends with him, and can't believe school is almost out! Joe's been able to meet some awesome people, and we are so thankful that we're able to call them our friends now too.
Oh, and we girls have also taken advantage of matching a couple times. Which is funny, considering that Mom would match us ALL the time when we were little (and we didn't always like it). Now, we have actually done it on purpose a couple of times, including a 'maxi dress' Sunday.
Some of the most exciting news this summer was the launch of Abigail's book, Modern Prairie Sewing! It's been amazing watching her promote it and exciting to read the good reviews from happy seamstresses!
We feel so blessed to have gotten to meet some wonderful people over this summer that have become fast friends. We've loved getting to do things with them including a shopping day, movie + snack fest + kayak adventure, and photo shoot fun.
We do have good news for you.... our birthday bash starts Monday!!! We will plan on sending out newsletters so if you haven't signed up, you might want to so you can keep up to date. Lots of inventory-ing going on around here.
Not much else has been going on, except lots of reading and watching Perry Mason before bed. Hope your summer has been as good. xoxo
PS.... Have you spotted that badge on the top in the sidebar?? Coming soon!!
We're Kristie, Apphia, Achaia, Abigail, and Abiah - a mom and her four daughters. We love Jesus, we like to make things, we love to be together, we talk a lot, and we design sewing patterns. So glad you've stopped by!
