The dishes were so beautiful. And I couldn't say no.
It all started on Monday. I was out flea marketing with my sweet mom and sisters, along with two good friends. We were in a store I'd never been in before. I turned around to walk in one of the booths, and guess what caught my eye? These lovely dishes! I had to get down close to them, pick them up, run my fingers over the pretty floral design. Sigh. Perfection. It took some refraining on my part, but I didn't come home with all the dishes the store had.
After getting home and looking in one of our Fire King books from our dearest Nanny, I found the pattern is called Primrose. It was made in the late 50s to the early 60s. What could make me happier except the fact that they match with some of my all-time favorite fabric?

Those are so pretty! I've always loved milk glass and even though I usually go for the plain kind with no design, these are so unique and downright pretty. I wish we had flea markets here in California...=)

Oh those are so beautiful Achaia! What is the name of your all time favorite fabric? Okay it's a good thing I wasn't there with you I would have bought the rest! Pretty pretty! Pre sewing days I had a thing for dishes and cookware. Now think about my fabric buying habits.... yeah, I got a few plates in my kitchen! giggling) Girl we could go shopping! Good thing you live far away... =D

LUCKY YOU! My grandmother had these same dishes and I remember eating from them as a very small child. I came across 2 loaf pans and a cake pan in a thrift store--and the collecting was on!
When my Mom was visitng (she lives in another state) and saw me using them, she thought my grandmother had given then to me instead of her. They meant so much to my Mom that I packed them up and sent them home with her. she enjoys them still.
Thank you for the photo and jogging my sweet memories.

I saw this exact pattern for $12 (four cups and "trays" as in the last picture) at our local antique store, and thought of you. =) It *is* pretty!

I just found your blog through another one and was reading when I came across this post, funny I have all of the prim rose dishes also. In college I was in a group called the prim roses so when I found these dishes I had to have them. Between my Mom, grandparents and myself I think I have doubles on most of them, but I haven't seen them in quite some time.
