If there was one of Anna Maria's fabric collections that we could consider THE masterpiece, it would have to be Loulouthi. (That is, if we could pick a favorite. But you know very well that we've loved them all, and each new one ends up our "favorite" at some time or another.) We have spent lots of time lately dreaming up what to do with all this beauty. The gigantic roses and butterflies and X's and O's and - oh! - the color. We love it all SO much. And we're so happy to have it in the studio now! Quilting cottons. And voile! (Stay tuned, because we hope to show some finished projects we're working on with Loulouthi... soon...)
AND as if that weren't enough fun, here's something else to play with. Rebekah Merkle's new collection, England Swings! It really does swing. Oxford High Street, meet Rustic Americana. Somehow it works itself into some of the happiest fabrics you've ever seen...
England Swings

How funny - you ladies are way too to know this, I'm sure, but in the '60s (I think) Roger Miller had a hit song called "England Swings", and for some strange reason it's been running through my head all day! Anyway, the fabric is gorgeous.

Lisa,
We've never heard that song before... now we're going to have to look it up! It sounds so cute (we love old music), and what a funny coincidence that it was running through your head today!!

England Swings looks so fun! I'm itching to do some sewing now. How is the Seamstress's Thumb doing? =)

Hello C.A.!
My thumb is doing just fine--- thank you! It's grown out quite a bit, but I'm still not sure if some of the nail is going to come off. We'll see! It's a little sore at times still, but sooo much better than when it first happened!

I had this website saved a while in the past but my computer crashed. I have since gotten a new one and it took me a while to locate this! I also really like the theme though.

The idea of the workshop was to map out different viewpoints, different ideas in order to offer resistance to the oppression and bring to light themes such as poverty, displacement and economy. It was about showing memories, giving a different view of the problematic and maybe most importantly, present a viewpoint of the people’s perspective instead of that of the mass media.
